I have been trying out all of the meal delivery services, and I was very impressed with the quality and affordability of this one. I also love the fact that you can customize it and add and remove meals and add-ons very easily too! Home Chef is available for just 2 meals a week if you want, or you can add as many as you need. They also have smoothies, breakfasts, and even fruit baskets available, really making this a one-stop shop! If your total is under $45, they will charge a $10 shipping fee, but you can add a fruit basket for two ($9.95) to get over that limit and have fruit available; a great deal in my opinion! Here is what I received one of the weeks from Home Chef:
Sirloin Steak with Scallion-Demi Glace
I always get excited about a good steak dinner, and the sauces that these kits have are always incredible. This one included crispy potatoes and fresh green beans, and the sirloin was topped with an incredibly delicious scallion demi-glace. The best part about these services is that EVERYTHING is included (meat, sides, produce, etc), and there is also a recipe card as well, so you can recreate any of your favorites!
OVEN READY Cheesy Chicken with Bacon and Broccoli
Home Chef now has a new casserole option where everything gets dumped into a casserole pan, baked, and then served… There is almost nothing in the way of prep, and it even includes the pan. This is such a great one for cooking with one hand (which I have been doing a lot lately with a clingy baby), people who don’t like to cook, or sending a box as a gift to someone especially now that groceries are so difficult. This one was a Cheesy Chicken with Bacon and Broccoli. Everything was dumped into the INCLUDED casserole dish, and thrown into the oven. When it was done, I poured the sauce on top. That’s it; so simple, so fast, and so delicious.
Sherry Glazed Roasted Chicken with Asiago Stuffed Tomatoes
I literally picked this entree because I am OBSESSED with Asiago cheese. It is like a strong Parmesan cheese, and has SO much amazing flavor. The pan sauce for the chicken was an incredible wine demi-glace, and the stuffed tomatoes were INCREDIBLE. These were stuffed with butter, panko crispy breadcrumbs, and Asiago cheese and could have been their own meal by themselves. I love when we find things like this, because we are able to easily replicate them for future meals after getting the kit.
Italian Sausage Roasted Red Pepper Alfredo
This was another of the casserole dishes that Home Chef now offers. This one was literally as simple as throwing everything in the skillet, and then I tossed everything with the sauce when it came out of the oven, and topped with cheese. Super delicious and hearty, and loads of flavor. We purchased some of the Sun Dried Tomato Pesto sauce so that we can make this one again; super yummy!!
Overall, I have been very impressed with Home Chef, and have ordered from them a couple of times. As I mentioned above, they charge $39.80 for two sets of two meals (four meals total), and you can add additional meals based on your family’s size or needs. In addition, there is a $10 shipping charge if you are under the $45 minimum, so you can add another meal, set of smoothies, fruit basket, or whatever to get above that. Right now they are offering a $35 off promotional code, just for trying them out! That means that you can get 4 meals for just $14.80 delivered to your home! Now that’s what I can stretching that $20 bill! Let us know what you get, and what you think of the service overall!!
