Over the past several months, I have been trying all of the meal delivery services out there. One of them, however, really stands out in terms of simplicity and EASY, QUICK cooking. Every one of Gobble’s recipes was on the table within 15 minutes, most of them made with one hand with the other holding a clingy baby. If you are short on time, or maybe lack in skills in the cooking department, WOW is this a good one for you to try! Their meals were also well balanced, and delicious, which is an oh-so-important factor for me! I also was able to choose which of my meals I wanted to receive (you can always skip a week if it doesn’t work for your schedule or you don’t want what they offer that week!). They even threw in a couple of cookies too as a “thank you” for trying their product, which was super nice. Here’s what they sent in my box:
Pan Roasted Chicken & Fava Bean Succotash with Creole Butter
As with all Gobble meals, this one was super simple and easy to put together, but it was so filling and good for you! I used a cast iron skillet to start the chicken for a few minutes skin side down, and once that was nice and crispy, I popped it in the oven for a few minutes while I put everything else together. Once the chicken was cooked, I let that rest while I cooked the veggies for 2 minutes, added in the creole butter, and served The veggies were very fresh, and the fava beans were very filling and took the place of a “potato side” on this dish. Very yummy!
Short Rib Burger With Smoked Cheddar & Summer Potato Salad
Hubby was SO excited to see this one! The burger is a short rib patty topped with melted smoked cheddar and served on a brioche bun (if you haven’t tried these before, you NEED to pick some up!). This was 10 minutes, and involved no prep work at all. We cooked the burgers in a skillet while the buns toasted in the oven. Then we added the cheese to the cooked burgers to let it melt. The burgers also had sweet pickled onions and a tomato jam, served with a side of a ready to eat summer potato salad. There was even enough lettuce left over that I made a couple of side salads as well!
Souvlaki Marinated Bistro Filet
This was my favorite meal; it was super simple, and had such great flavors! The bistro filet steaks cooked while I assembed everything else. The orzo pasta was already cooked and just needed to be heated (optional since it was a salad), and everything else got tossed together. The Orzo Greek salad included tomatoes, cucumber, lemon juice, basil, feta, and more. The Souvlaki sauce was delicious; this was like a Greek chimichurri sauce, packed with herbs and flavor.
Overall I think that everything was so easy and already prepped, and incredibly fast. Especially on nights that dinner just isn’t going to happen, which happens a lot more than I would like to admit, a service like this is super helpful to defend your family against having pizza delivered – again. I would highly recommend trying out the service, especially with their introductory offer! Right now, they are offering $50 off your first box , which is the best offer that we have ever seen! That is cheaper and quicker than going out to the drive through, and much healthier too!
