I absolutely love trying all of these new services; they help out with your budget, make cooking faster, and also help you learn about new ingredients and recipes. Green Chef offers fresh, organic ingredients. Of all of the meal delivery services, Green Chef is my absolute favorite for FLAVOR. They had the best recipes, with a TON of veggies (don’t worry; they bulk up on the meat too!). They allow you to customize your deliveries to be regular, vegan, paleo, and more. They will then send you a delivery with EVERYTHING you will need for your meal, from meat to veggies to herbs, with the exception of olive oil, salt, and pepper. They also have recipe cards to show you, step by step, how to create these meals. In addition, since you have a recipe card, you can do these again and again. I have a binder with all of my cards, and I continue to make them a couple of times a week. I also love the novelty aspect of these; I find that hubby helps out more when we have some fun dealio we are making. Check out what we received in our box:

Rosemary Chorizo Linguine

Ok, so this one was our FAVORITE. This included a spicy chorizo linguine, and an incredible citrus radicchio & frisee salad. The sauce on the pasta was made with a Greek yogurt with Parmesan cheese and egg, along with the spicy Chorizo, whole wheat linguine, and green snap peas. I could eat that every night! The salad was made with a sweet Honey Dijon vinaigrette, orange pieces, and racicchio & frisee lettuce. I have never had a salad with these, so they were a wonderful change. We were absolutely stuffed after this one, but it was so good we were licking the pan (ok, so it was just me…).

Moroccan Chicken

This one had so much flavor in it too! I was surprised, as I really don’t cook with chickpeas, but this showed me how easy it was to add a lot of flavor to something that normally is so cheap with coupons. The chickpeas had dried apricots and currants, onions, garlic, jalapenos, and spices. The other side item was couscous; something that I had never made before these meal services and I am now addicted to; it is the easiest side dish out there! The chicken was pan seared with a cumin paprika spice blend; everything felt like a really authentic Moroccan dish.

Southern Tuna Croquettes

The last dish was perfect timing; hubby had been begging for crab cakes! These are very similar, made with ground Yellowfin Tuna. The Tuna cakes were very easy to assemble; even for someone who has never made any kind of fish cakes (yup!). This came with a bunch of diced veggies (sweet potatoes, celery, red onion, and bell pepper), which were roasted to deliciousness. I love how much color they added to the plate! The other side item was collard greens in the form of a salad; something else that I had never tried, served with dates and a chive-dijon vinaigrette. The tuna cakes had an awesome southern aioli dipping sauce too; there were several strong flavors on the plate. Hubby does not like seafood, but this one was a real keeper.

Overall, Green Chef was my absolute favorite meal service when it comes to the flavor of the recipes, as well as the amount of veggies. Everything is color coded for each recipe, so it is easy to get together all of the ingredients when you are ready to cook. It is also organic, which is something that is not big on our list, but they really seem to have a ton of options to help accommodate the different dietary restrictions/preferences out there right now.
