I have a brand new exciting deal for you today!! Right now, you can get an awesome new introductory offer that will let you fly for FREE on several airlines. This offer is with the United Airlines Explorer Card, and it is an awesome one! I am going to start off by saying that my husband and I have started traveling everywhere for FREE, and absolutely LOVE it. The incentives that are offered by credit cards are absolutely incredible, and can easily amount to about $10,000 in free travel on an annual basis, IF you use them correctly. If having a credit card causes you to spend more than you normally would, or puts you in any kind of position where you won’t be paying them off, IN FULL, every single month, then I don’t recommend that you get these. If, however, you are able to use them for your regular, everyday expenses, then this is an AMAZING option for you! You can also check out this article on How We Take Advantage of Intro Offers with Everyday Spending to Travel For Free as a great way to get you started.
Right now, United is offering a 40,000 point BONUS just for signing up for their credit card, when you spend $2,000 over the course of 3 months. We have just our insurances on the card, and that is enough all by itself. To give you some perspective, a flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas is 6,000 points each way, so that makes this a great way to get a free trip for your family, on just the bonus offer alone! The first year, the fee is waived, and then there is an annual fee of $95. Most cards with annual fees make sense (for us) because of the benefits that we get on an ongoing basis. However, if not, you can always cancel at month 11 and not worry about paying the fee. In fact, you can “downgrade” the card and keep it open (which is what I intend to do), and that way avoid fees.
This card has several great perks, including free checked bags, a Global Entry/PreCheck application fee credit, priority boarding, and more. Another important point on these cards is that you will earn miles on your regular, non-United shopping, and you can use the miles on non-United redemptions as well, making this a pretty amazing way to jump start your travel budget!!
