Have you heard about this new one?? Martha Stewart now has a new Marley Spoon meal delivery service! This one is amazing; they deliver fresh, pre-portioned ingredients straight to your door. You can choose from several recipe options every week, created from thousands of Martha’s own recipes. You can skip weeks that you don’t need, and plan out your meals ahead of time, and they even have vegetarian, gluten free, and other dietary restriction plans available, as well as plans for different family sizes and frequency needs. The ingredients are directly from purveyors, so they focus on the quality of their ingredients that they send. These include Berkshire pork, grass fed beef, artisanal cheeses and vinegars, and more. Check out what I received in my box:
Cumin Berkshire Pork with Pilaf and Cilantro Radish Salad
WOW, the flavor in this one was amazing! First of all, this was a 1.25lb Berkshire pork tenderloin, along with a couple of cups of rice pilaf (made from scratch). There was so much food, and everything had great flavors. The pork tenderloin was extremely juicy, and covered in a garlic and oregano marinade. The salad was a cilantro and radish salad; I am not a fan of radishes, but this one was delicious! Very bright flavors, and the cilantro was very fragrant and made the whole plate just “pop”. It really makes a difference cooking with fresh herbs, and the whole plate was very fresh and tasty.
Butter Basted Steak and Fries with Broiled Peppers and Garlicky Mayo
This butter basted flank steak (half pound steaks!) was very tender and juicy, and had so much flavor! It was basted in butter and fresh thyme, and then topped with a shallot and red wine reduction. The potatoes and garlicky mayonnaise sauce were great together, but one of my favorite parts was the peppers. These bell peppers were roasted and broiled with chopped garlic that permeated the peppers and made for an oh-so-scrumptious side. Let’s just say that both of us were licking our plates by the end 🙂 .
Overall the meals were delicious. The recipe plans were simple and easy to follow, and had great pictures to help. I loved how much flavor was in these meals, and there was also a lot MORE food than we were used to with the meal delivery kits. Their customer service team is very accommodating, and their quality of ingredients was great. This would also make a great gift idea for a new mom, a housewarming, a college student, or anyone looking for a weekly (or monthly!) help in the kitchen. I would absolutely recommend giving them a try!
