I just started baby proofing our home for our ever-so fast 7 month old son. I thought that I would have more time!!! I am suddenly noticing that he wants to climb everything, touch everything, and put everything in his mouth, so I am quickly racing around to try to make everything a bit safer (although I honestly think just wrapping him in bubble wrap might be a more suitable solution). I just received a set of Baby Lodge furniture straps, and I was really excited to try them as my first major baby proofing item. We secured a bookcase in the baby’s room (since I am sure that climbing the bookcases is his next feat). The instructions were simple enough, but thank goodness for pictures. The pictures made it super simple. There is an extra set of hardware as well, as this same kit will work to strap a TV down (wow!) to make sure that it won’t tip over on my little one. We installed one end to studs in the wall, and the other end to the bookcase itself. We tightened the straps, and it was connected and secure! I do think that the straps are too long and may be a hazard after finishing connecting the bookcase, so I would recommend either trimming them when you are done, or you can tie them together, as I did from the top, to keep the ends from just dangling (and inviting investigation). Overall, the hardware was high quality, the product serves its purpose perfectly, and it came quickly to our home. I would absolutely recommend this one!
