HOT DEAL! Go To The Movies DAILY For $6.95 Per Month!!!

O.M.G.!!! THIS is the deal that you have been waiting for; DON’T MISS IT!!! I picked up two of these as a Christmas gift for hubby, and we have already used it about a dozen times this year. MoviePass is an amazing company that will allow you to see any one regular movie, EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. That means you pay the monthly fee (HALF the price of a regular ticket!), and you can get into the movies 30 times in a month! This is SUCH a great deal for our family, because we LOVE going to the movies, but it is obviously super expensive at about $15 per ticket. We also purchase Discounted Movie Theater Gift Cards HERE, so our concessions are super cheap, and it makes family night out very inexpensive. Right now they are offering their BEST sale price ever, just $6.95 per month. You have to pay this upfront for the first year ($90), and then it reverts to a monthly billing. For us, the card paid for itself within the first couple of weeks, and will be good through the rest of the 12 months.

This card is essentially a credit card. The way that it works is you must “check in” to a movie theater within 100 yards of the theater to let them know that you will need to use funds. You can pay for your ticket within 30 minutes of checking in, and you are all good to go. This card is good for ALMOST any theater, nationwide. You can find a list of participating theaters HERE (all of our local theaters are included).

After having used this card for a couple of months, there are some definite advantages and disadvantages that you should be aware of:

Pros

  • The cost is a FRACTION of what you would normally pay to go to the movies, and very quickly pays for itself.
  • You can use this ON TOP OF your theater rewards, because their system processes this as a regular credit card payment. I have gotten SO many free/discounted concessions because we are racking up points like crazy with all of our movie ticket “purchases”, making it even cheaper for us to use.
  • You can see one movie every single day; and watch movies multiple times (like the Greatest Showman; I won’t admit to how many times we have seen this one!!!).
  • This card will work on opening night movies; there is no exception to which movies/dates you can see (outside of NO 3D/IMAX movies).

Cons

  • You cannot purchase tickets in advance. This doesn’t normally matter, except when you are trying to go to a movie that has been sold out for hours (yup, this happened to us, but we just went to a different movie and came back the next day 🙂 )
  • Reception is CRUCIAL for this to work. You cannot check in before arriving, as you have to be near the theater, and within 30 minutes of purchasing tickets. We have gone and not been able to check in, wandering around trying to find wi-fi nearby. We have figured out the best places for reception, so this won’t be an issue going forward (hopefully!). Also keep in mind that you can go to the theaters and purchase tickets hours/days before a show; it doesn’t have to be AT showtime that you make a purchase.
  • Customer service. I am going to throw this in here as it has been my biggest hesitation in writing this post. I ordered our cards 2 days before Christmas, and they arrived the day AFTER Christmas. That is SUPER fast for any time of year. They tell you that it will take 2 weeks to arrive, but there are horror stories about people waiting 2 months to get their cards. Also, if you have an issue, their customer service is non-responsive, based on many online reviews. However, I have reached out to them via Facebook messenger 3 times to get clarification on the program, and have received a response all 3 times within 30 minutes. So. I acknowledge that there are bad customer service reviews out there, however, if you don’t have issues using the card, this is irrelevant, and if you do have issues, I have not found that reaching them is an issue.

Overall, this has been the best family gift that we have ever given each other; this has made for so many fun nights out, and has reduced a lot of the financial (and emotional) stress of trying to “figure out what the heck we are doing tonight”. Our toddler LOVES going to the movies, so this works out so perfectly for our family. Outside of the reception issues with checking in, this has been SUCH a great deal for us, and we intend to keep our membership for as long as the company is around. Get yours TODAY!
