I am VERY excited about this one because it is my favorite food every; ITALIAN! Gulliver’s Pantry offers a GREAT meal delivery service that is unique in that their meals are all SHELF STABLE, meaning you don’t have to worry about precious fridge space with these! Their deliveries include four meals for four people each, including an appetizer, meal, and dessert, and are very hearty, made with high quality ingredients. These are a “Dinner Insurance”, because you can literally have these ready to go meals stored in your pantry/cupboard for those dinner emergencies when there’s no way you have the time (or energy!) to make a full meal for your family. They even offer several other non-meal items, like a variety of soups and mueslis (similar to a granola). Here’s what I received in my box:
Our Family Favorite
The family favorite meal comes with Gulliver’s Pantry’s hearty classic marinara sauce, spaghetti, parmesan cheese, and salt for the meal. It also includes an appetizer of hojiblanca olives, crackers, and (the most AMAZINGLY addictive) Italian bruschetta, as well as a dessert of Biscotti di Prato (delicious cookies that pair perfectly with a cup of coffee). In our family, we have just over 2 servings per meal, so we actually use these kits for TWO seperate meals. There are two pouches of sauce, so it is very simple to split this over two nights, and is PLENTY of food. I like to throw in whatever veggies/meat are in the fridge, but it is a full meal without adding anything; save for a nice glass of wine 🙂 . This one is just adding a chicken breast with fresh Thyme. YUM!!
Pomodoro E Riccotta
This cheesy tomato sauce is “all that and a bag of chips”. It is bright and cheesy, and oh-so good. There is definitely extra sauce on this one, which is welcomed. This meal comes with the hojiblanca olives, Italian Wheat Crackers, and Italian Bruschetta as an appetizer, spaghetti, tomato ricotta sauce, parmesan cheese, and salt for the main course, and the Biscotti for dessert. I added some jalapeno sausage and some chopped up mushrooms and onions.
Pesto de Spaghetti
The last set of meals that we received included the bruschetta, wheat crackers, and olives as the appetizer, and SUCH a nice pesto sauce. If you are unfamiliar with pesto sauce, it is primarily garlic, basil, and olive oil. If it is a bit too thick, you can add in a couple of tablespoons of the pasta water to give it a creamier consistency, but especially with this sauce, a little goes a long way. We chose spaghetti for this one as well since that is the baby’s favorite pasta, but they also have whole wheat or penne options as well. I added some shrimp and kale to this box, and it was on the table in under 20 minutes!
Naturally Nutty & Sweet Muesli
Instead of a fourth meal box, we chose to get the muesli (mainly because I have never heard of it!). It is an specialty from Germany, Bavaria, and is similar to granola. There are several varieties available, and I chose the Nutty & Sweet one that includes granola and nuts. This box has 18 servings, and is perfect to eat with some milk, on top of granola, as a snack, and more.
